They have addressed county roads, public spaces, private ownership, and support services such as signing, snow storage and maintenance. &lt;a href="http://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0AVzRXv6IQG2bZGd4empyazlfNDJnZDQ4aG5jNw&amp;amp;hl=en"&gt;Planning&lt;/a&gt; It has been a unique opportunity to combine ideas to produce a product that will benefit everybody. The owners asked the Mazama Advisory Committee to help facilitate the planning effort.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One of the proposals from the group was to ask the county to lower the speed limit approaching the intersection and to replace the three way stop with a more traditional four way stop. It was felt that with ever increasing pedestrian use along with the proposed business developments, that it makes sense for a slower speed in the immediate area. It was orginally done almost 40 years ago. Fortunately for the Mazama Area, (the entire valley in the Methow river drainage north of Winthrop) we have a Comprehensive Plan that was updated in the 70's and again in 2000 with input specific to our area. Last spring, our committee held a public meeting to recieve additional input on our vision statement and additional items that should be addressed in any comp plan update for our area. The Mazama Advisory Committee is wanting to make sure that any revision of the Okanogan county plan not dilute our existing Mazama Plan. We want all the provisions that the people in the Mazama area have developed to be maintained. This plan is also know as the 'Mazama Plan' . It was put together by the residents of the upper Methow Valley in 2000.  In the spring of 08 the Mazama Advisory Committee held a public meeting to 'check in'  with the community regarding the plan and any needed updates.  The Committee is currently working on making sure that all points in our existing Mazama Plan are maintained in the Okanogan County Comprehensive Plan process.
